ESPHome platform

ESPHome is another great open source project that allows you to create custom firmwares for your ESP8266/ESP32 boards with just a simple configuration file in YAML format, very similar to the configuration files of Home Assistant. The integration of a device running an ESPhome firmware into Home Assistant is super easy because the ESPHome project itself is born inside Home Assistant.

The upload of the generated firmware to the board is also super easy and can be done over the air or through USB cable.

ESPHome has also a user-friendly web interface (dashboard) to manage all your firmwares and devices and is well supported by Home Assistant

Because of this great features, it has been added in d-diot image, since version v.1.1.
